dc.description.abstract | We read with great interest the insightful systematic review by Caron et al.,1 which addressed the significant observed heterogeneity of magnetic resonance enterography [MRE] indexes of activity and scoring indexes used for Crohn’s disease [CD] assessment. Of importance is the assessment of image quality metrics in MRE and understanding its influence in accurately assessing CD activity.Since clinical symptoms often fail to assimilate objective measures of CD activity, MRE has emerged as a pivotal diagnostic and monitoring tool and is considered the preferred modality for diagnosis and staging of small bowel CD.2 However, the accuracy and reliability of MRE is largely contingent upon the quality of the obtained images, and whether subtle alterations in MRE protocols produce substantial variations in image quality is yet to be established. | - |
